“My
Name is Khan” is a very heart whelming story of a Muslim who has been judged
because of his religion but despite of the bullies and circumstances, Khan has
remained true and kind person to everyone. Though Khan is not normal he still
proves that life can be worth living for.
The
movie leaves us viewers a message that we should not compare one person to
another because everyone has unique abilities and perceptions even if on the
other hand they have the same culture and beliefs. As the famous saying says
“don’t judge the book by its cover”, we can never tell how well can the person
be and how he sees the world unless we reach out to them.
It
is an awful thing that it needs to sacrifice one dear person before other person
values your call for innocence. It is so hard to fight for our rights when on
the first place you have already been judged and that you can do nothing but to prove more yourself. Khan,
once stumbled yet continues to walk for his journey because he believes he can
go for his goal (to meet the President) even if he left his wife, even if Sam
left him and even if all the people would fear him because he is a Muslim. When
nobody listens to him, he still tried to be human to those who persecutes him.
I
admire khan so much because despite of big discrimination, he still stands. I
remember also when I was an elementary student I had Muslim classmates and in
my thought they are bad persons and that I should not make friends with them,
later did I realize I was wrong I have judged them, like us they are just human
also and that not all of them are bad. Yes they have strong personalities which
makes them not approachable in the eyes of many, still they can feel pain and
hurt. Until now I have kept my Muslim friends and they are good friends of
mine.
Prejudice
should not be applied anywhere and anytime it makes you close your doors for no
valid reasons. Catholics or Muslim as long as we believe in one God, whatever
the name, we make good deeds not just for ourselves but also for others, we
remain to be good persons then others won’t have the right to judge us.
